Use this form to apply for permission to fly a drone inside an airspace restriction sponsored by Aerial Defence. Please read the restriction details carefully before you apply.

A Restricted Area (Temporary) is established in the vicinity of Kingston-Upon-Hull, Humberside, where the Hull Fair is scheduled to take place. The Civil Aviation Authority and the Secretary of State for Transport agree that it is necessary in the public interest to introduce Restriction of Flying Regulations under Article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016 for unmanned aircraft for reasons of public safety and security due to the intended gathering of a large number of persons.

2. When

All times on this form are UTC, the same as the AIC and briefing sheet. Please convert your planned times from UK time yourself. During British Summer Time (late March to late October) UTC is one hour behind UK time, so a 15:00 BST take-off is 14:00 UTC. In winter UK time and UTC are the same.

Please give the serial number of the aircraft itself, not the remote controller. It's usually printed on a sticker on the airframe. On DJI drones it's also shown in the DJI app as "Flight Controller SN", and on modern models it starts with 1581. For other makes, check the airframe sticker or the manufacturer's app.

6. Declaration

What a permission covers. Any permission we give is for access to the restricted airspace only. It is not an authorisation of the drone operation itself. If your flight is outside the Open category you need a CAA Operational Authorisation, and you may also need permission from others, such as the landowner, the local authority, an aerodrome or the sponsor of any other airspace restriction.

On the day. You must be contactable on the mobile number you've given throughout the permitted times. If we, the police or event staff ask you to stop flying or land, for example in an emergency, you must land as soon as it is safe to do so.

Changes. A permission may be amended or cancelled at any time, before or during the permitted times, if the circumstances change or if safety, security or operational reasons make it necessary.
